    Thanks All - it was nice to be able to use my column to be able to do this. And remembering the life, rather than mourning the passing, I think is so important.

    And if it gets some of you calling up/appreciating your parents, then I have done more good work this day (quietly proud). They're not around forever, so make the most of them while they are still with us.
