    Exhaust heat?

    I have a XT660R...
I have just fitted a metal mule 2 into 1 system.
For some reasion the right pipe is running hotter
than the left pipe... (its a single)
    WHY
    Valve setting on the right
shorter pipe length , sharper bends , slower gas flow

    Any ideas ?

If the system isn't a true tuned length system then yes one header can get hotter than the other as with the other things you have posted can also contribute to this ... Give the system a chance to settle in & then see if it is still doing it & then go from there..

Does it matter? Once you get some baked on mud on those headers you'll never be able to tell.

You could always put the original pipes back on and see if there is a heat difference with those as well. That would tell you if the issue is with the pipes or deeper in the cylinder head. Or you could just ignore it.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
