So I get a friken phone call from Muzz at 0500 this am asking me to instead of going to Silverdale (9ks from home) could I go to Paps (50ks from home).
I told him I aint going that far.. so now I have to go to Mt Well and pick up an amb and then go to Paps at 0900..... SO.. You have a couple of hours to redeem your self and phone in UNSICK so i dont have to go all the way down there.....you know who I'm talking about miss SV rider.
Casting aspersions on my good character Mr Speedy?????? Since you're sitting right next to me and we are working together I will be expecting lots of chocolate today to make up for your slurs. But oh how convenient, you have forgotten your wallet!!!!

So what's your excuse for being anti-social and not riding with us 2day WT?

Well about 10 bikes turned up at Westgate for a 9.40am departure. Roads were still dampish with patches of dry coming through pretty much all the way to Wellsford. At the start of Peak Rd Bruce and I swapped bikes until Kaukop and I had my first ever ride on a Gixxer1000 - what a rocket!! Several riders only went as far as Kaukop and then turned off to Silverdale. I had a couple of minor hairy moments in the wet up to Wellsford with the rear end of my 'Bird sliding about a foot, once on a white line and the other time thru a puddle...was still fun.

We all stopped at Wellsford where we had a snack and a chat for 20mins (we were joined by the infamous RiderInBlack who escorted us back to Ak) and decided it was looking too wet up north so back to Auckland we went. Road was predominately dry on the way back down so we opened it up a bit more and had a blast! Joined up along the way with some Ducati riders who were keeping a good pace...not fast enuf for Loosebruce though!

Nice to meet some more KBers for the first time: motobob, oldfart, etc.

Pity about the rain but them's the breaks. Looking forward to the next ride!

Ta for the ride 2day Zed. It was good to get out there and meet you guys. I had a lotta fun 2day. It would have been cool if the road had stayed dry into Wellsford but then again I need to build that wet road confidence. Yeah cool ride.

Cheers for the ride Zed. Shame about the weather on the way up. Was quite nice on the way back though.
I followed SH16 back to Helensville but decided I couldn't resist one last lap of old north rd before going home. I was just behind Zed, LooseBruce and motobob as they turned off peak rd on to old north rd.

P.s. That was some pretty impressive 'monocycling' near the end by LooseBruce and Zed. Certainly put a smile on my face

Yep good ride today guys, good company, the wet roads didn't worry me too much, only in the dry my rear tyre was scearming enough abuse, so a quick trip into see Chris at Haldanes had me rolling out on a 2nd hand racetec all ready for the Sunday ride and Taupo track on tuesday, will put the racetec front on, on monday, and leave whats left of the power for tomorrow's ride, just in case the weather turns shitte. And hoping my new tyres turn up by the time the racetecs are toast (7 days).
Good to meet RIB, Motobob (catch ya on monday ), Zed, how soon until you buy a Gixer?, Feint and M/maker, bummer you couldn't come all the way, MikeL again, man you must rack up the K's mike, Oldfart, love the sound of your Kawka GPZ mate, and Chickenfunkstar, good pace near the end mate, nice riding, Ninja Boy and one other sorry didn't catch your name.

Until next weekend, only the missus spat the dummy and said no riding next weekend, , as i went riding last sunday, then riding wedensday, then test rode a K5 on thurs, ride today, ride tomorrow and then the track on tuesday, not enough cuddly time according to her, damn it all. maybe she'll come around.

    Cool

had to have a service done (2 hours plus)
they found a noise behind the clutch
(i thought they all had it,has had it from new)
may be a faulty alternator gear drive
(I just thought it was noise from the slipper clutch)
had to content myself with a blat round the piha road
sort of slow like (not), as i dont want to damage any thing.
the new muffler sounds flatter the the orginal and has
    a nice burbble about it
the art of diplomacy is saying nice doggie,
until you find a big rock
