    Lake Ellesmere boating

Do any of you know if Lake Ellesmere is deep enough for a 4m inflatable boat with a 30hp outboard? I've seen boat ramps there and I've even seen a water ski area in the lake but I've heard the average depth is only around 1m.

    my wee stabi

with a 30 outboard goes well in under a metre of water
but i would hate to fall off a biscuit or drink that water its putrid
you would be better off going to lyttelton and head out around quail island
go in the early morning on a high tide absolutly magic and gauranteed to have the island to yourself
