Cheap summer riding jacket - Revit Ignition (Leather & Textile) - Sz 48

    ** 22/12/11 -SOLD **

Thought I'd scored a bargain and if this fitted me better I'd keep it. But it didn't, so it is up for what it cost me to land it. And I'll tell you all I know about it, unlike the guy I bought it off.

This is a Revit Ignition jacket. Unlike a new one it has several distinguishing features:

    - Lovingly slid along the road at some point (but not too far!) to give you that 'distressed leather' look without scratching your bike!
    - BONUS! Small holes in mesh on front and a couple of little ones in the fabric of the sleeves, too!
    - Waterproof liner is missing. This will stop you sweating like a bastard!
    - Standard Revit long zip swapped out to suit another brand of pants, probably Dainese I am told.

I took this along to Kerry (I was thinking of getting it tarted up) and she tells me a little external stitching is missing on one elbow but that the internal stitching should mean that is not an issue and that the jacket is sound. Some scuffing to leather on front and sleeves, but the the back of the jacket looks completely undamaged to me.

Shoulders and elbows have reasonable armour. I'd probably spring for some Knox stuff if I were keeping it, but it is perfectly OK as it is and the armour shows no signs of damage. The back pad is about as protective as wearing a thick vest underneath it, but you should wear a decent back protector anyway if you plan to crash (and also if you don't).

I personally prefer a waterproof over-jacket over a liner anyway. Outer gear takes you 20 seconds to put on or take off compared to forever pissing about with the poppers for a liner. Outer jackets also stop the leather getting saturated. It still has the "thermal" inner, which is like a vest that zips in and out easily enough, so that's alright then.

It's a roomy size 48. I am 1.78 or so and ~70kg and I rattle around in it, so you'll probably want to be a bit bigger than that.

A shit load cooler than an unventilated jacket and much safer than just wearing a T-shirt. Well suited to someone on a tight budget. Poorly suited to someone who likes everything looking spick and span at all times or the paranoid.

Any questions or if you want to try it on, please send me a PM. I'm in the Glenfield area but could take it into the city centre on a work day if that would suit you better.

    Cheers - Chasio

Cheers and yes, it's probably a bit small for you.

But your PM reminds me to say that I'm happy to ship at buyer's cost.
