TYRES: Continental Motions, Thoughts please.

Hey guys, So im getting close to needing a new rear tyre, after a decent highway trip yesterday, I havnt left myself much in the way of tread, the fronts not to bad though, im thinking maybe another 600 - 1000km on the back left in it,

Anyways long story short, im currently running road pilot 2's and they seem to be fantastic, Just got an awesome deal from the local bike shop on Continental Motions, front and rear, im wanting to know if anyone has had any experience with these? I mainly use the bike for commuting with a spirited ride which usually involves treating the bike like a school girl in a high security prison,
So im in need of something thats good in the wet and wont leave me snaking all over the show.

Im not asking for alternatives, just wither or not these will up to the mustard, the price is definitely cheap

Apparently Motions work well on some bikes. I ran a set on my Aprilia Shiver and hated them. They have been the only tyre I've ever had fitted that I replaced before they were either munted or worn out. They were skittery on moist roads and extremely skittery in the wet. Feel under braking was ambiguous, which I don't think is particularly helpful.

I'd pay the extra coin and get a set of Road Attack 2s, if you're on a Conti frame of mind. These are a vastly superior tyre.

I only got 6000kms out of my set and im expecting 10000 out of pr2s so are you saving money?

at the moment about half the price of a set of pr2's haha, will wait for a few more people to share their opinion and experiences before I make a decision.

I didn't mind them on the 1200 bandit, but they never saw more than seven tenths so if you plan on exploring the limits they might not be too good for you. From memory I only got about 5000km from the rear aswell.

Ya get what ya pay for !

I pay top coin for a tyre that only lasts 2/3 of that what i'd get out of a cheaper (harder) tyre, but the confidence i get from that choice is pretty damn spectacular when ya look at Chook strips on the bike !

I didn't mind them on the 1200 bandit, but they never saw more than seven tenths so if you plan on exploring the limits they might not be too good for you. From memory I only got about 5000km from the rear aswell.

yeah they will be going on a GT650r and twins are a little more vicious on tyres, so I would suspect to be getting similar mileage

Running them on my SV1000, live in Wainui so every ride out is a trip over the hill with fast corners. I got about 7000km out of the last rear contimotion and the front is still going. Put another one on the rear and that is still good at 6000km and the front is about chopped, so 13000 on front so far. They suit my style of riding and haven't had any "hairy" moments yet.

Yes mate, had a couple of wheel spins in the wet, but that was more conditions as everybody else in the group spun too and they ride different brands of tyres. They stick and wear well. Not a trackday tyre, but trade off of low cost + wear lifespan vs high speed corner stickiness and the fact that I'm not a racing god then they'll do me nicely. Previously fitted Bridgestone BT010 and Michelin Pilot Road (factory fitment) both sets of which I only got 6000km out of. The conti's feel more positive than the Michelins and Bridgestones.
And yes sport Vee twins chew out tyres quickly.
