When I passed ernie this morning, thumb ready on horn he wasnt there (8:40) I guess he went for a leak cos a blue chair and box of lions was there.

    all hail ernie.

I look forward to seeing him on monday and making sure I give him a good honk wave

You should stop on the bridge sometime, take your helmet off. You can hear him yelling asthmatically, "Who's that driving over MY bridge?!?"
I thought you were the Onewa troll.

Good man - I'll make a point of trying to remember to do the same...

It's pre coffee for me though so remembering it in time is a challenge...

what time does everyone commute down the NW.
I pass dozens of bikes a week (ok so im cocky with my lane splitting) dont jump off topic with how dangerous it is you can post that elsewhere.

I think MDU me and Crashe

I take it down to get to work on fanshawe before 8:30 ideally. so I get on at the Great North Road intersections and get off at the end and go all the way down to the waterfront.

Often on the way back im there between 5:45 and 6:30

Down from Kumeu to Newton, passing Ernie arounf 7:45 through 9:00 (depending on the day). Home (passing Ernie's hangout) at 4:45 through 7:00pm.

    lol yeah.
I missed ernie today cos I was behind a coppa and being carefull.

    semi-interesting story actually.
I was lane splitting reasonably fast when I noticed this odd yellow bike behind me. I sped up a little to see if he wanted to keep up or maybe even pass. I noticed a cop about 10 cars ahead, unlikely he had noticed me so I jumped into a lane then signaled (pointed at eyes then pointed at cop) to the other guy incase he didnt notice. he didnt and went past me, but thats when I noticed he was a fucken scooter. god I hate scooters.

so after a few lane changes to get into the prime 'ernie spotting position' I noticed the same policeman was in the auckland central lane so I couldnt do my ussual speed down the left lane only to nip into the auckland central offramp at the last second.

anyway. come up to the backed up traffic leading to nelson st, cops beside me. I REEEEALY want to lane split up inbetween but of course theres a cop there.

so I asked him (with sign language) he gave me a thumbs up and I have him a gleefull nod and went up.

    great start to my day
    thanks mr coppa man!
