I'd believe lots of things about you, Tony, but that is just stretching things a bit far, don't you think?
Have you met The Venerable Mr Hitcher yet? His capabilities are legendary.

Is strange too,my absolute best thing to happen to me with them arriving, and sadly my last, and I feel priviledged.I am not sad at all,the joy of hugging him was amazing,we are close, and more so since my first bout of cancer,he would do anything to help, and I would in the same boat.

Baton Carriers:
The batons are now going to be something special...not just a bit of 40mm broom handle.
A couple of members have had the same idea about the Batons and I will leave that up to them to sort out.
More on that in the New year...
But...(this part has been added to post #2)
Those that carry the Baton will decide the route they take to get the Baton to the next carrier.
Also, keep in touch with the person ahead that they are handing it over to (via text/call etc)
The person ahead will need to know an estimated time of arrival, and place for the hand over.
The hand over point can be appointed by the person ahead.
Paul (Paul in NZ) will start the day off in Wellington..start time and place TBC but Wellington Motorcycles is sounding good at this early stage.
Paul (and those who are with him) will take the Batons up the coast to Bill (sinful) who will then take them through to Sanson where they will be handed over to Barry (Dogs) and Al (86GSXR)..The two Batons will then go thier seperate ways then, one heading east and one heading west.
The final schedule will be posted in post #2 in the New Year.
Un fucken believable,on behalf of all people effected by cancer this is humbling for sure. The cause is good(cancer society)but it's like this is a crusade to enjoy and I am truly in awe of the comradeship shown by people here and in my life.

...whats humbling about it Tony is, the response.
We have messages from people who want to and will get in and support this (and the walk relay on the North Shore) ...from those that have not even met you.
All to late to show someone what you mean to them once they are gone...to get a chance (and with your blessing) to do it while that person is still around is something most would think about after the fact.
The Cape Ride was part of your bucket list...you have now been there and done that.
I remember coming to find you and to see if you were ok?
You were in your unit...and I think you said ''How can you not be in awe of this place''?
You were just taking a few moments for yourself looking out over Cable bay.
I left ya to soak it all in.
Once you have a route in mind (I presume you want the batons to link up again, probably north of Taupo), let me know which one you want me to follow. I played with routes a couple of times, and they will differ by about 100km, depending on how easily they link up - Te Kuiti probably looks the most likely?
