    Ask Grandpa...

Thought we could have a bit of fun with this. Every women's magazine has an Agony Aunt column, an "Ask so-and-so", so I figured we could do that on here.

As long as we don't get too far out of hand that it gets PD'd, if you have any questions or issues you'd like to ask Grandpa about, post away.

Lacking a swim bladder and gills, they start at a disadvantage and then they tend to melt. A great eating fish though, best served raw.

There are many roads, not always leading to the same place, and can be made from many different materials from paper to dirt to concrete.

You are if you desire another man's bike, however of you desire a similar bike for yourself, you are quite within your rights and if you get the means to purchase one, go for it!

Mostly a mixture of clay and sand with added minerals. "Soil" is used to describe arable dirt with the minerals necessary to grow plants.

Rain, my dear, is the Earth's way of making everything grow and refreshing the atmosphere. The natural water-cycle is very efficient and a wonderous thing. It is unaffected by individual humans but may be influenced by the activities of mankind adversely.

I regret to say, neither you nor I nor anyone else is able to make it stop. This is in itself a good thing as otherwise there would be a constant state of war between those who want it to rain and those who don't.

The Sun is an incredible thing. It in effect "eats" itself, yet it has enough reserves of hot stuff that it may never run out, and the best estimates of science is that it will last at least several billion years yet.

Grandpa, you know soooo much stuff. You must have gone to school for a long time AND you must be really old. Is your head full yet?
And why is Grandma wearing those funny stockings, and holding a whip?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

My head will never be full as as more stuff goes into it other older stuff, and sometimes even recent stuff, falls out. At times it would seem a sieve is more secure than my brain for retaining stuff.

Grandma, unfortunately is resisting being persuaded to wear those funny stockings and brandish a wip; however she has other rather attractive methods of distracting me from whatever I am doing at the time, to the point where I am mesmerised and unable to move...
