There's a program you can use to convert 3D cad files to a printable paper cutout. It adds the tabs to glue and everything, and gets pretty exceptional detail too. Some guys were looking at using it to use as fiberglass mold bases (just put a plaster+paint over top) but I don't think it ever happened.
