Pikes Peak 2011: into the 9s

    http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011...the-nines.aspx
Monster Tajima has broken the record and finished at 9:51. Rod Millen has also broken the 2wd time attack class record at 11:04. Wasn't surprising that records have been broken now that more of the course has been sealed over.

100% sealed next year. Wonder if sub 9s would be possible.

Bit of a pity in my eyes that it's going to be 100% paved in future.

I looked seriously at the SX4 but it was a bit noisy for us old folk, so got the Kizashi instead... Don't think it'd catch Monster though...

It will be interesting to see what vehicles people will race up Pikes in future, but I agree, the dirt and gravel will be sorely missed.

No it won't. Cross that one off the list.

I love the old Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak, the one featured in the Gran Turismo series.
