Sad... If the mother isn't happy with how she herself looks, what would make her reassure her daughter that she is fine whenever the girl looks at herself? As the saying goes, "Monkey see, monkey do..."

I think it's so hypocritical that the beauty industry tells women that they're beautiful inside, but then tell same women they need all sorts of chemicals and mods to look acceptable and beautiful outside... I used to work in the advertising industry and this sort of thing is why I don't anymore.
