This is the first in a long time, but was such a good night, another might be done again in a couple of months or so. An advancement-on-this night is being talked about too.. Just pm someone and ask. I don't mind helping out where I can

actually on a follow up note.

does anyone know where the ait filter on a RGV150 should be.
I want to replace it before the night ride if possible
I only posted this because of the global economic crisis

most often, take the tank off, and have a look on top of the engine. There should be the airbox, which is often a big black plastic thing. It should split open or unscrew (don't force it off too much!) and the filter will be in there. It'll only need changing if it's black and crap. Normally it's a colour, like orange/blue/white/green/red etc, and the air filter will often go blackish around the entry point into the box. If it's black, replace. If it's not too bad, then don't worry, but bear in mind and check next fortnight or so.

Saying all that, that's for your usual 4 stroke 4 cylinder. Your bike might be a little different, but principle should still be about the same. Just see where the air goes into the bike/engine and go from there

If it's not too bad, you can also give it a careful blow out with an airhose from the inside to dislodge the dust/dirt on it.
Unless you're riding on gravel roads a lot, the airfilter should only need checking once a year, and may need replacing as infrequently as once ever couple of years.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

nope, something like that would be perfect. Most of the people who attended last thursday are likely to be on the ride on friday, so it'd be a good time. Still unsure if I can attend or not, but I'll chip in 5 bucks or so for the fund.. Just remember how generous he's been, and yep, he is going to get business from it, but still goes to show he's a top bloke for helping out. He's not expecting the business even tho it still happens

    True, dat.
I went to see him the day after, and talked to him about it, and said, "Well, you'll probably get a bit of work from it anyway", and he replied, "Look - I honestly don't care that much about that side of it. If it helps a few people out, and stops them having an accident because they've fixed something on their bike that wasn't safe, then it's all good!"
He's a top bloke all right. Probably the best thing we can do to help him is give him our business - it's not going to cost us any more than some other place, we know he's honest, helpful, will give us a good deal, won't rip us off, and his mechanic (Trevor) is skilled and thorough.
There's a good reason he's not rich - his bottom line isn't "to make lotsa money", unlike many other businesses around D'Auckland.

    Spanner evening

Any thoughts on another date for a spanner evening? I'd love to come to something like this. I've got a few fold-up seats in storage I can bring. Stephen

KERRY at MOTOHAUSE has been generous enough to offer us the use of his experience as well as his showroom/shop in Kingsland
This is a chance for new riders to learn basic motorcycle maintainence
and perhaps to remind more experienced riders.
This is very much grass roots stuff -we wont be rebuilding motors but we will be doing the basic stuff that all bikers need to know.
this is a MUST for all newbee riders
    subjects covered will be
    chain tension
    brake bleeding
    steering head bearing checking
    tyre checking
    fuse checking /replacement
    changing oil/filter
    changing spark plugs
and a whole heap of other basic stuff.

Tony? that you? Sarah burgess (rimmer) here tried to use private message but cant - new to forum. trying to find old friends (bikes) getting a bikemyself :0 need some people rto chat and ride with - send me a message
