    Recording capacities?

I can take a 22minute recording on my SD VHoldR ( Contour ) camera that totals 287MB. The picture is quite grainy, not good focus at all, certainly not sharp.

By comparison, I took an eleven minute clip using a Fuji F5600 digital set to 640 x 480 VGA video. This raked up 750MB's. Why such a big difference in storage?

The F5600 actually filmed far clearer and more sharper colours that the action vid camera. Would the more detail of the Fuji account for the extra mb's?

The VHoldR has been a neat interesting learning curve, but I'm going to upgrade to one that focuses better. Probably a HD version.

I did notice that moving the camera from the handle bar mount to my helmet gave a sharper picture. I'm wondering if the reflection of the chromed headlight cowling along the bottom of the clip may has distorted the focusing of the VholdR when attached to the bars. Vibration at the bars is almost nil.

Has anyone used the Drift innovation X170 camera?

kiwifruit just bought one and has been putting it to good use. It takes very good HD and VGA resolution video. Here it is, significantly compressed from the original:

Thanks for your knowledge. Have read the article from Wiki, and the vid clip looks far superior to my current VholdR.

Just another question, What would be the time difference between transfering a 5 minute HD and a SD video. Is HD ( more info), that much slower to transfer?

If you're talking about transferring the data from the device to a computer, then larger file sizes (such as HD video) will take a longer time to transfer than a smaller file size.
