Who can skive off work in Wellington today?

Okay...so it's REALLY late notice (like F/F up there in them northern parts) but HELLO!!! Have you looked out your window??

    AND it's Friday afternoon!

My place (on the front of the Dom Post today) has it's midwinter christmas lunch. After that, I'm planning on heading home and picking up Gem (had to bring the car today).

Then I was thinking of heading north up to the beach perhaps. I haven't yet been out on the motorway and wouldn't mind some moral support (read: other bikes around me).

Any takers? Only thing is - the social life starts at 5:30 - so I mustn't go out for TOO long!!! (oh - and on a GN250, it's not gonna be crazy speeds).

    Str8?? CSL?? Jim??

That is sooooooo tempting, but I am far too busy at work today.

    Next time!

I'm in Levin, don't fancy heading south on a Friday and getting stuck in the traffic heading north again later! You should ride to Foxton Beach and have a latte at Simply Balmy - I could meet you there!

    Okay dudes and dudettes.

Here's the plan: I'm gonna head downstairs and have lunch. 12-2 (max).
Check computer see if anyone's decided, "bugger the work, I'm off"
    Go home, grab Gem.
Leave Wellington by way of the Terrace/Motorway onramp (could meet people somewhere if suggested?) at approximately 2:30pm.
Head up to Paraparaumu Beach (motorway).
Then pretty much turn around and come back maybe go along Whitby way around the bay and then back to Wellinton on opposite motorway for some wiggly bits. (counter peak traffic - so not too scary or slow).

If ANYONE wants to tag along/join in: 021 715 740 to let me know to meet you wherever!

P.S. Sparky...what's his number? And am I allowed to mention mental instability clauses in employment protection agreements?

Hmmm...giving it some thought - maybe instead of going all the way to beach - might just do a round trip around the bay at Whitby and then back into Wellignton on opposite motorway (SH2) so more experience in the wiggly bits of road too!

Damn it all. Of all the days to not call in sick....

at least I have to go sort something out at the prepress contractors.

Just how to get from Molesworth St to Wakefield St via the Rimutakas is proving difficult to justify today as well... so I guess buggering off to 'param ain't on the cards either.

Enjoy your ride. Paremata Road or Grays Road - they are both good - I would probably recommend Paremat Road - it's a touch slower...

    Its luverly out there today.

I look out the window and the Canadian Embassy haven't even bothered to put up their flag today - or is it that there's so little wind its lying flat against the pole?
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
