I put a lion down today

Yip a odd thing to do as a chippy, helped snuffed the lights out on a two year old Lion. Poor wee man had been tossed by a larger more dominant Lion two days ago and had his femur broken, and while all was done with correspondence with Africa and Aussie no pinning or Opp has worked on big cats so to euthanase was the only way out for this chap to be rid of his pain.

After darting him and he fell asleep a small mission was needed to find the right vein under his impressive mane. One syringe was injected and the beasts massive heart beat slowed, he passed very easy and quietly.

Now it kinda gets a bit undignified for the Lion as all we could do was drag him across the floor, The vet wanted to take a look at his leg so... yip out came the knife, more blood than I have ever seen and out came the broken bone. It sure was fucked a spiral brake proving there's no way he could have been mended.
Ya see the bone its self isn't that big about an inch and a half across, the lions leg how ever is about the size of a child, all muscle and with strength like that the muscle would have pulled the pin out and bone apart.
So more undignification and we draged him up onto a trailer a 6x4 which he fill from one side to the other and end to end.

Well spose I'm telling the story cos I don't want to have any dreams tonight of him coming back and chasing me down for dinner, was graphic was sad but thats life, and its not every day ya get to see just how big these anamils really are, his paw fitted in both of my hands and still hanged over.
    cheers DD

No offence to you personally D but the undignified bit was when some cunt put the thing in a cage, imagine being a motorcyclist and some fuck puts some wire round your suburb.

I know the feeling, I have to ride my TS185 in a small suburban back yard.
