    Danger! Born Again

Greetings to All and Sundry. I suppose I could fall in the category of “Mid life crisis – born again – used to own a big bike so get another one and go splat”

Too old and cunning for that!
Introduction: I have been getting the itch to get back into biking after a 17 year absence (Marriage, Mortgage, Offspring – you know how it goes) I started in the early 70’s (golden years – yeah right) and have lost count of the bikes I have owned (must count one day) During the 80’s I had the lovely Suzuki GSX1100. A new one each year from 80 through to ’87 including a Black Pipe GSX1100 EX for those who remember them. Other bikes included RG400, GS450S and a pile of others. Single then, and lots of money to spend – not like now.
I found this site a while ago, and reading the posts convinced me that the Gods were smiling on me. The blessing from ‘Er indoors followed – sort of – and a bike followed. I am not so foolish as to assume I can handle a modern 1000 sportbike (straight away – hee hee) so I took the sensible path and got a 250 (87 TZR250) that should be fun to get back in the groove with.
First thing I did was pull it down for a check. It is in the garge in bits now. All in good order so back together soon and reg & wof and fall off in that order.
Sorry for the ramblings of an old fart, but I didn’t get where I am today without learing a few things - like “That hurt” “Don’t do that again” and “A 7 wire fence does slow you down”
I will try to behave and not lower the tone of the site too much.

    Hiya - welcome!
Have personally been here about a week and, as far as I can see, the tone of the place can survive just about anything
    soooooooo enjoy!

Hi Dadpole - good to have you in the KB gargre.

Yep, I remember the black pipers. And the Wanganui Specials.......

Have to meet up on the road some time - we're always out and about to the Wairarapa (Flying Fish before/in between/after runs around the Water Tower/Gladstone roads).

It's because of our parents getting midlife crisis's that us whippersnappers get our bikes (if we're lucky)

    Wilkommen to the site

Hey!! You are letting the side down. I got back into 'it' with the gixxer. Biggest bike I ever owned/rode.
    Happy KB'ing young fella
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
