    What a fuckin joke

    Really?
The useless cunt has never fought a genuine fight in his life, and from what Ive seen, he has the boxing talent of a thalidomide baby. and theyre giving him a shot at the NZ title, against some cunt who has lost MORE fights than he has won.
If that useless cunt wins the title, i swear to god, Ill fight the cunt for it myself.

No more of a joke than professional boxing itself. These bouts are engineered for bring in revenue, there is no sport involved.

A 'sport' where all you do is hit the other person, preferably hard enough to knock them out? Seriously?

Even thugby is a step up from that. Hell I'd rather watch the WWF (they still have that right?), at least they don't hide the fact it's scripted.

You've got no idea. Come to my gym. I'll even pay for your first week. Once you have gained a clue, then you can resume your ranting.

    Oh really...

Boxing is a combat sport in which two people fight each other using their fists. The match ends, when an opponent is knocked out or deemed incabable to continue match
Is that or is that not a valid description of boxing? Is the idea to beat another person with your fists or not? If the idea of boxing is not to beat another into submission with your fists then I retract my comment. If it is, then you and your plonker mates are quite free to keep punching each other in the head, I hear that works out really well

/edit: Whilst we're at it, riddle me this... Boxers I've seen interviewed talk like they've had their brains punched out (funny that). Is that mere coincidence, and you actually have to be that retarded to take up boxing, or was it a result of the boxing itself?

Lawn bowls... not very exciting, but at least the competitors need help to wipe their own arses because of their age, not because they chose getting smacked in the head for a sport.

Not. people get knocked out in rugby too.

the point of boxing, like any other sport, is to score as many points, while conceding as few as possible. plenty of fights go the distance and are awarded based on points scored. There are many many skills and techniques used in boxing, - though I will admit that most of the time, Pro fights are boring as fuck . amateur fights are the good ones to watch.

Better yet, watch MMA, much more dynamic, competitors have many more options at their disposal for both defence and attack, but I digress

    SBW is a joke.

Actually no. What you're undoubtedly thinking of is professional boxing, and/or perhaps the "fight for Life" type events which of course made the TV last week because they had Shane Cameron and Monty Beetham involved. (though the best of those fights IMO was the Haley Holt/Paige Hareb fight)

Basically (and I am going to proceed here on the basis that you do not know this, rather than being wilfully ignorant and/or trolling) there are two different sports that share a name, both called boxing. (like, you know, league and union, or, I dunno, MotGP vs Superbikes). Professional boxing is just that: for money. The key indicators are no headgear, no shirts, usually a LOT of rounds, and generally some mayhem. Thats your David Tuas and Shane Camerons. And they're the ones who generally get the early onset Parkinsons and the shakes and all that. Usually later in life and probably as a result of brain injuries sustained as a result of their occupation/profession/living. And while less defensible than amateur boxing, who are you, a motorbike rider FFS to throw stones about people doing something inherently dangerous?

Amateur boxing (so I am talking Olympic style) has mandatory headgear, bigger gloves, and a LOT of rules around safety. If the points discrepancy gets too much, the fight is stopped. Too much blood, the fight is stopped, too many knockdowns (I think two) and the fight is stopped. Plus the competitors generally are very closely physically matched in terms of height and weight. and the fights are shorter.

Basically I get the idea that you dont like it, but its fairly apparent you know nothing about it. My offer stands. Come to my gym. Learn something, get fitter. All the people there are really nice and friendly, even me.

and if you stick at it, you will get fitter: theres no workout like a martial arts workout.
