Shaun Harris' suspension service in Auckland?

    Hi all,

I haven't really been around here lately and I did a quick search (probably not thorough enough) but I couldn't really find anything. Does Shaun Harris still have a suspension shop on the North Shore? I remember seeing a thread here introducing it and now I'm ready to get my bike set up finally, but can't find anything

Also, are there any other places in Auckland that can do suspension? I'm just talking either adjusting OEM suspension for my weight, or replacing the oil/springs and all that fancypants stuff before I have to fork out $4012419889421 for Ohlins!

    Thanks!

Sadly, you have to trawl through PD to find the full saga that is/was Shauns Auckland business. He's in Oz now but still haunts KB from time to time.

    Oh
Sorry, I didn't know Well that sucks.

So, I guess that was the only option in Auckland in regards to suspension?

Buy a good book and learn to do it yourself.

You'll learn heaps in a very short space of time and have a better understanding of how your bike works.

Basic set up is not hard and with a bit of investigation/learning most people can do it with simple and correct tools.

When / if you do migrate to better stuff you'll have an appreciation of what you are getting, what to expect, how to adjust it, and if not quite right, at least you'll be able to pick it to get it even better.

Keep an eye out for something like Andrew Trevitt's Sports Bike Suspension Tuning. is sort of like a "Suspension for Dummies"

This will not negate the excellent work that guys like Robert Taylor do who can get down and dirty with the real detail stuff in a way I'll never understand, but at least you'll understand what they are talking about and the effect of all the twiddly bits you have.

Assumption is the mother of all f... ups. There is now a very well priced Ohlins ''Streetline'' range for many models.

My apologies, as I said, it's been a while!
Do you guys have a website, or is there a price list I can find somewhere?

That would be highly unusual for Shaun
