All my thoughts are with the Jones family. Like everyone I will keep hoping and praying for the best possible outcome for Cam. Amazing things can happen even when the odds seem stacked against you, you just have to keep positive, and keep fighting for it. I have seen the amount of support out there, and it is heartwarming to see how the biking community comes together to support one another when its needed. Big thank-you to Patrick for keeping us updated, Kia Kaha, and don't forget to take care of yourself during all this.

Apologies for not getting this up sooner.

Cam has been stable over the last few days. at intervals his sedation is reduced which allows some small responses. to see them is very exciting for us. the neural specialist is very pleased but is still very clear to us that cam's recovery will not be complete. we however now know how well he will be in six months. today he will get a mri scan allowing a better assessment of the spinal injury so they can surgically secure this as soon as possible. it all sounds tough but we are in good spirits and our list of "postitives" is long, so long in fact facebook couldn't fit them all in! im back home in invercargill now but will still be receiving updates from my family which i will pass on to you all as soon as i can. thanks for all your ongoing support and i hope to see most of you out at teretonga at the weekend. Patrick

    The latest update from Pat:

Hey guys. for a while a good day was still having cam with us. then after the grim prognosis it was to have a day of stability and no more bad news. the last day has been stable. great. today cam was able to be away from icu for 2hrs for an MRI scan. he coped fine and initial reports show the head injury is stable plus the spinal injury is operable. so the doctor has scheduled a breathing tube operation on sunday. this is to aid the long "wake up" period proposed over future weeks. early next week they perform the spine operation, and the latest scan showed hope. so i guess we see this big day as good, or cautiously very good. thanks so much for the huge support we're getting. it helps us to help cam

Best wishes to Cam and family. Been following the thread as briefly met him at Taupo last year - and it's never good to hear of any bad accident.
    Thanks for the updates

I think he needs a kg of RJs liquorice, Cam was pretty dissapointed when we got to RJs factory on the way to the bucket GP in Nov only to find they were closed. We are thinking about Cam alot

I had the pleasure of following Cam for 3/4 of the Bucket GP and managed to take a bike length 1 or 2 times but he would take a cheeky look over his shoulder and take it back ..Behind me was a Hoogie and when Cam pulled the pin 3/4 through the race Hoogie went with him I tried to stay with them but they were way too fast ,I was so pleased to be riding with such talented lads it made my GP!!
I wanted to say thanks at the end of the race but I will have to save it now untill next time ...Wish all his friends and family the best ..

    Latest from Pat:

Sometimes no change is a good thing, today that was the case for cam. he decided that seeing as it was the weekend he would just chill out and not do much.

Haven't been on kiwibiker for ages but when I heard of Cam's crash I thought there would be updates on here. Thanks for letting us all know how he is going foxzee... Wishing Cam, yourself and all of your family the best with lots of love being sent your way from across the Tazzy

My brother has been in the hospital with possible head/spine injuries before and although that wasn't for as long I know how heart wrenching it is. It's never nice to see some one you love in that sort of condition. Thankfully it sounds like he's on the mends... Wishing you all the best and will check in on here when I can to see how he's going.
