What back tyre for my XR?

Me XR needs a new/used back tyre. The knobs are falling off.

Maybe that burnout over a log was not such a good idea.

Its got a 110 x 100 x 18 at the moment but I think its to big as it hit the exhaust. So am looking at a 100 x 100. I ride at Thundercross and maybe woodhill etc. So what should I get thats uber cheap and will work ok. Im just a fun rider so dont need the best.

Ive seen one called a Deestone, are they any good?

Also stiffen up the suspension if its hitting the exhaust.

I'd suggest you pop down to Dury tyres[bike division on Gt South rd ] and see them a 100/100 [4.10] x18 is what your after.
A KiwiX or similar will be around $80 . Euro brands over $100+. Go for a Mid/soft pattern.

A Deestone, Innova, KiwiX are copies of the high end tyres usually made in Thailand/Indochina etc the carcass and rubber compounds differ but represent value for money if out right performance is not what your after.

    So add some pre load?

    Yes, add some pre load.

Don't know about these but this is what someone else says.

He doesn't say what they are like in the wet either, but i would say you get what you pay for.

A friend bought the wrong size "Kiwi-X" rear tyre for his bike so to help him out I bought it off him. Had very low expectations but have been suprised at how well it's done. Better traction than my previous kenda tyre for sure.
Don't know if I'd buy one for front (have Michellin S12) but for rear it's been good.

Has the bike taken enough or hard enough knocks on the right side to nudge the exhaust in to the wheel well a little ?
That would also help make the tyre rub.
Can you tweak it out a little?

LOL, i dont think there is a part of this bike thats not hard a hard knock!!

Its only just touching and I wouldnt mind it being a little lower as its had a XR250 rear shock fitted that makes it higher than stock.

Going to redo the seat to help that to.

I hated Kendas when I tried them.
