Everyone here can attest, I crashed the fuck out of my Ducati race bike, so I know a bit about what saves skin and bones from hands on practice.
Tight leathers don't shift very far from where they start out when ya hit the deck. This has two advantages, the armour actually works to protect the pokey out bits under them, and you don't get the curios grazes in places where there is no hole in the leathers.
My leathers were bought so tight I could barely get on the bike. I wore them around the house and rolled around the floor in them until I could get a leg over
When I went down at high speed they stayed exactly where they should have. No armour moved around and they did the job well enough to be used again.
Leather stretches. Like a good helmet... tight when new but compress to fit in time.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Oh yeah, my leathers were fine to be reused time and again after crashing the Ducati 6 or 7 times. All at a fairly decent clip.
They're not meant to be comfortable untill you are in the riding position, and if you are on a cruiser/tourer/non sports bike, then one piece race suits will always feel naff.
Cool. Thanks for this thread.
I just recieved my qmoto extremo pants, and i was thinking they were a little tight (too many hot pies over a cold winter). I was thinking about sending them back for the next size up, but after reading this thread i think i will zip them up to my qmoto jacket and wear them around the house for a while to let them streach.![]()
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which i desire
my leathers are tight cos I'm a fat bastard.. they fit fine when I am riding and aside from not being able to stretch my legs out to get my knee down (cos I'm a fat bastard) they are comfy when I ride on the road or at a trackday being worn for the entire day.. I wore mine around the house for a few days when I first got them and then just went riding..
I kinda agree that wearing leathers is a bit showy offy.. I mean hey, I like to show off my leathers, I like to show off what I consider to be my appropriate riding attire but I certainly don't try to get my knee down at every roundabout I come across so perhaps I am being a tad sarcastic here.. I appreciate checking out other riders leathers just to see who is wearing what and I like to ask them how they find them.. I reckon if I wasn't such a fat bastard my leathers would be a bit of a better fit but I can zip them all together so what the hell..
I have taken to wearing my Draggin's and my Dririder Nordic Pro when i tootle to the shop to get some more fat bastard fuel cos I can't be arsed squeezing in to my leathers.. but if I am going for a serious scratch then I'll get my leathers on and head off..
"oh I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?"
