I only come here for a laugh, to see people melt down and some of the wind ups. I see it as my evening entertainment due to the fact that the TV is shit.

Personally, if I wanted technical support I would find somewhere that was specific to my bike. As long as they speak English I wouldn't be that bothered where they are located.

Having said that, does anyone know how to wind back the odometer on an SV1000?

    Dead fucken easy!
Put your SV on a paddock stand.
    Start it up.
    Select reverse gear.
Leave it revving it's tits off all night.

I saw a thread about this on another forum. You have to put it in reverse gear whilst on paddock stands

An electric drill used to do it... oh, they had cables back then.
If the destination is more important than the journey you aint a biker.

Yes, but in reverse the bike tips the paddock stand over. I'm not stupid.

Is it because this big forum is so general and the others are specific.

Is it because KB is full of members who are so full of themselves they try and control most threads and its all about the ego.

    Is it a kiwi thing?

Even the mods are so full of themselves they control with and iron fist and don't listen to constructive information.

What do you think or do you?

where's the best place to buy a sparkplug for my 250 and what sort of spanner fits my bike because the chain seems looser than it should be and sometimes falls off when I'm riding. Also is it OK to have wavy-shaped teeth on the back sprocket? Mine are smooth and quite rounded and look like a different style than on other bikes. I've noticed on hills there seems to be a slipping clacking sound, is this normal? I've fallen off a few times now, mainly just loss of control more than anything, how many more crashes will it take before I can be classed as a good rider?

Like many here on KB, I also frequent an overseas forum that is specific to the kind of bike that I own. It's sometimes helpful and very occasionally interesting. Most of the time it's as boring as fuck compared to KB, which itself has IMHO become quite dull compared to the KB of old.

The level of knowledge & experience here I feel is fantastic. Not just technical knowledge relating to motorsickles, but the amount of knowledge in other, sometimes related areas (Law, Politics, etc).

No, of course not. To achieve that you have to use a big rubber band..you know, the flat type. Be aware that these break down in the weather though so always park your bike in the gagre.

    Its a numbers thing.

All the other sites I am signed with don't really have the numbers to start all out wars. On KB at one time there is enough to start a flame war.
On the other sites the trolls get kicked off way quicker.

As for the technical aspect. I have found internationally most bikers outside NZ are clueless morons. We rarely get a "Should I cut holes in my frame for an air intake?" or "I have just run my bike on diesel and now it doesn't work" threads here.

Why do you have an issue with your bike?
