Except that the study you're referring to is American, and most of their democrats are to the right of our Nats, at least in terms of economic policy. You don't have the same correlation here between social conservatism and the left/right split. National, Labour and Winnie all have big chunks of socially conservative voters.

Nope...still the lefties whinging about Labour losing, not the other way round! Still can't seem to get over it!!!
Ah yes, the old "I didn't actually mean that, i was taking the piss" retreat. Probably the only response open to you.

I don't think anyone actually thought Labour would do anything other than lose. All the lefties I know are pretty relaxed about it, but we are all rather worried that we have a government that has absolutely no ideas and lacks the balls to do anything beyond selling shit and cutting spending.
Don't blame me, I voted Green.

The reality is that the left-right continuum is largely irrelevant these days and has little real meaning beyond places like the KB messageboards.

I think you're simply ashamed to admit you took the bait like a starved Groper. Because you'd be too intelligent for that one.

Or are you wishing you hadn't put up such a big old target for me? If you were "baiting" me, what are you going to do beyond saying "I was only taking the piss"?

It's like shooting fish in a barrel here sometimes.

So you aren't able to counter my post? Why didn't you just say so instead of acting as though you never meant what you said.

I'll leave that up to you. The outcome will be the same regardless, so whichever one you think you have the best chance of success at.

When I have a lil more spare time on my hands, I'll see what I can do.
