Not very often that something like this happens is it? I crashed twice in round 1 and didn't need their assistance. The bike was worse off than me

the item has just been on TV 1 news, no other info has been stated but police have asked if anybody has any video of the crash or leading upto the event.

please people, lets all be sensible about this and be supportive of those who are upset by this event.
yeah... sorry bro, i thought that ment miles 'n hour.

I heard the bangs and saw the flames...

    http://www.tvnz.co.nz/view/page/411749/599512

The first incident was half way round the track and invloved several bikes
and required the Ambulance. That produced a red flag on the start/finish
line but there was no red flag any where else on the track. Some riders
stopped immediately for the red flad, and started to reform the grid. Riders
coming onto the start finish straight had no warning.

I didn't see the iincident peronally, I was in the pits having just
completed my first race for the day.

I heard three seperate impacts that make you feel sick trying to explain or
    remember.

The other incident at the other side of the track had the ambulance tied up,
and they were unaware of the second much more serious accident on the
    start/finish line.

One guy died at the scene. The other two were strethered off in the spinal
    braces....

The worst thing possible happened. A guy was killed at the track today, and
he did not do anything wrong. It's hard to desribe this one as a racing
incident, but I guess that is what happens at the race track sometimes.
Thankfully not very often, but often enough to remind everyonoe that life is
    precious.

Condolences and sympathy to the families.

    George Graham.

One of the worst scenes I've seen in all my years of attending race meetings. Absolute carnage.

I have to state I did not see either incident happen, as I'd dashed to the ladies while F3 were sitting on the dummy grid. I came out of the ladies and it was like WW3. I'm not being faceaetious - there were bikes on fire, people running everywhere - it was awful. I simply couldn't understand till I got to pit wall and talked to someone what could possibly have happened.

We dropped Mitch off at Wellington Hospital A&E about 5pm to get checked out.

My thoughts are with all the riders and their families.

Terrible news, certainly not the kind of coverage you look forward to seeing on the news. Condolences to the family of the rider who was killed, and support to those who were injured or who witnessed the incident.

I will feel bad no matter who the person is, but we have many riding friends in Palmerston North and I am hoping it is not one of them.

Whatever the circumstances, it's a horrible thing to happen and my heart goes out to all concerned.

After riding the first race of the 150's, I was suppost to be riding in that F3 race too, but wasn't able to....

My thoughts go out to the guys/Families involed including the marshalls.

I didn't see it happen,, and are unsure of ALL the facts.

It's hard to imagine that a club that noramlly runs such a good meeting, would go ahead with only one red flag, (If that was the case)

I hope we get a good explanation of what happened (after all, it's OUR friends that have been hurt/killed by this), and that we all Learn from it, and NEVER let that happen again!

(If it is the case) Maybe it'll get them to improve the system and also set an example to the other race meets in NZ

Wondered why there were bikes heading south at 4, this arvo as I headed into Welly.

A total tragedy, but, these things happen people. It's what makes life what it is, in all its facets.
My condolences to those invloved and I hope the others are OK
    Not nice.

There is nothing good about what happened today..............

Brian D'marge...... SHUT THE FUK UP and stop drawing assumptions!!!

EVERYONE at the track today tried to react as best they could to what was put before them......... and there was a hell of alot for all of us to deal with.

My thought are with everyone that was involved in this tragic ACCIDENT!!!!!!
I have never considered myself so lucky to be in one piece......

I have 2 visuals left from today and one is how you looked coming off your bike. Glad you got home safe.

It often seems strange how one moment you're talking to someone and 20 mins down the line...they aren't there to talk to anymore....doesn't seem real.

    Condolences to the families involved.

It's not for me to get into the politics of this all.

My thoughts and best wishes to all of those directly and indirectly involved in this tragic event. RIP fellow biker.
