What are the best racing leathers for a beginer? (quite cheap)

Hello all, soon ild like to start doing some racing on the circuit, probally on a 150cc. Ive just got a new snell aproved helmet and will soon buy some second hand gloves/boots.

Just wondering about leathers, i want a 1 piece because i think ild feel safer in them (is this true?). Also ild most probally be buying them second hand so i could get better quallity.

How much do you think a good pair of new or second hand beginer racing leathers sould be? with all the sliders, protection and hopfully its own back protecter inbuilt.
    I was thinking around $500-$700?

Also what about something new like the ones a guy on trademe is selling (going for $580)

any help will be much thanked

Yeh something like that'll do. It won't have the back protector, but you can find them around TM for a hundy and a bit... Plenty of boots listed too

I've got a set of MIR one piece leathers. Cheapest on the market and have had a small slide at Manfeild and a big off on Paekakariki Hill Rd. They did a fantastic job. Still holding together after all that carnage too. Check out forbesanddavies.co.nz to suss out who your nearest stockist is.

Seems like you spend a bit of time falling off. You sure you know how to ride?

Well who the fuck woke you up. I see on your bike info you have grazed to hell. Seems you have plenty of slide down the tarmac time up yourself.

And no I don't have a clue how to ride.

There are bargains to be had through trade me.
I reccomend the KBC suits but budget $200 to get the suit adjusted to fit ya.

thank for the replies, ive "googled" both MIR and KBC leathers, but cant find anything about them

The helmet i have is a KBC and i love everything about it (very comfortable and quiet) so ild expect the KBC leathers would be the same quality?

Ive got a KBC 1pc for racing, and a Dainese 1pc on the road.
I can feel the difference in quality.
The KBC is still good, but just doesnt fit as good.
    What size are you??
if you dont know, try some suits on so you dont buy anything the wrong size.

Few other things to think about too..
Will you use it on the road?
If so you'll want to think about stretch panels (it gets pretty cold with them on leathers)
Armour, Postition they are designed to be in, etc...
In the end, YOU NEED TO BE COMFY IN THEM!!!
    Happy buying.

Would it be worth while creating a faq for this - perhaps some info about the different classes of leathers (class 1, 2, 3), body armour, who sells, who makes and who tailers/repairs them.
The contents of this post are my opinion and may not be subjected to any form of reality
It means I'm not an authority or a teacher, and may not have any experience so take things with a pinch of salt (a.k.a bullshit) rather than fact

its practical if you are just riding... riding and riding and riding I toured the south island in my 1 pcs!

I find my suit the most comfie piece of clothing I could wear for riding.
