IE9 with Crystal Reports ActiveX Viewer 11.0

Seems the publisher can't be verified, etc, and new security restrictions stop the viewer being installed into IE9 as an ad-in.

I've tried everything I've found on the net; lowering security settings, runing IE in IE8 mode, run as administrator, "manual" install, an MSI from some 3rd party that was supposed to fix it...

    Nothing yet's worked.

(This is to solve an issue for a clients clients, to support legacy stuff that will go away one day, but not this Month. No use saying "don't use IE9" or "don't use Crystal".)

    Sigh.
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.

wasn't there an IE6 emulator floating around somewhere to deal with the IE7 incompatibilities... might be worth a shot if you can find it and IF it'll work with IE9
