    Akaroa (Chch) Sunday?

Anyone heading out to Akaroa on Sunday. I might be out that way to meet up with some friends out there. What is the road like at present?

    theres a bit of grit:
-just on the south side of the sign of the kiwi by the second gear corner.- about 30 metres.
-below the 2nd gear corner on the south side of gebbies pass. for about 20 metres only
-and just a light sprinkling near the hilltop tavern.- nothing that would slow most up.
other than that the council have been doing a real good job of cleaning up.
was a great day today witha lot of bikes heading over to akaroa and back.
pity i have to be at work at 3pm sunday... may still go out in the morning if i can drag myself out of bed. have a great day y'hear.

Where is the Shell Cashmere? I don't leave the environs of the lab much...
Otherwise, what time is everyone passing through the other parts of town?

Man, what a perfect day. No wind, no clouds, perfect temp and mint roads.... in the middle of winter?? to the road crew who have swept all the grit off the road when it's not needed- good to see.
D & I had to be a bit antisocial and leave before everyone else as we had stuff to do (D rebuilding his poor bucket and me working on my shed, in which resides my bucket- the bathroom needs gibstopping and painting, but hey, gotta get your priorities right eh!).

My old FZR is handling much better since I raised the rear end plus my riding is improving, so I had a ball on the hills - can't believe I ever used to ride without hanging off, sitting still in the seat feels all wrong now. In Akaroa some old bastard looked at my front tyre and said that I need to back off a bit, or at least not go any faster or it could all end in disaster . Bloody old woman- but it's funny how some old fart can make a casual comment like that and it plays on your mind when you're riding.

Anyhoo, a great day and a real surprise in the depths of winter.
My daughter telling me like it is:
"There is an old man in your face daddy!"
