North Island Series 2012, four rounds, dates etc

    Guidelines, dates and venues....

    Round 1; Taumarunui Jan 7th 8th

    Round 2; Tokoroa Feb 4th 5th

    Round 3; Te Puke March 10th 11th

Round 4; Kaitoke April 7th and/or 8th (as part of the Vic Easter meeting)

Generally.. Practice and Qualifying from noon on the Saturday main races Sunday

    3 races per class, A-Grade 10lap, 20lap, 30lap each meeting. B-grade by negotiation.

Points as per the MNZ Miniature Road Race rules

Bikes to conform to MNZ noise and tech specs. Bikes to fully conform to nylon track protection as expected and well known by all. (if not ask eh!)

Race numbers... MUST be easy to read on the front and rear tail piece. We prefer 2 digits if possible

Entry fee should be $40 per round with a $20 cross entry fee (F4-F5-Motard where applicable)

Next summer we were going to cross over to a 6(?) round 2012/13 over the summer series. Let us know what you think. Cheers Steve

I think it's awesome that you and others put the effort into this series.
I hope the numbers are there to justify B grade points scored for the series. I was put off after the first year when B grade was rolled up and lost in the one grade.

If he's close he'll improve his riding more by running at the back of A than at the front of B.
Nige, coming up on the 7th to give me a hurry up?

I'm constantly amazed at how fast B-grade has become. It's way far out freaky man.

If we could work a system that doesn't get mega confusing we would. If there are enough riders we could have a B grade per meeting challange or similar. If there is only 14 bikes in total at a meeting, say, you would end up in the A grade anyway unless you are a hazard to others.

It's the jumping up and down the classes each meeting that creates points scoring issues. Thanks for the input all the same, we will see what we can do.

I know, 2 years ago I was coming second only to Caleb, who is now racing really well in A grade. Now I am lapping 4 seconds a lap quicker and 5th or 6th place is not uncommon. Bloody awesome fun.

I hear ya, point scoring is no easy task. As I discovered after trying a few times

Any objections to running B grade when numbers allow and all in when not. Means people may end up with both A and B grade points but that shouldn't be to big a deal, and if a putative B grader starts scoring too many A grade points we can call them a sandbager and not let them step back down.
