That'd be my guess, only a few wires means it is probably not anything to do with the ignition or ECU stuff.

Then check the circut diagram for your model bike. The number indicates it is for that model ...

A comm's port on an immobiliser? Nah......... It's only later model stuff that has ignition mapping, so not many cores required to perform fuel injection interception.

This sure doesn't look like an OEM Suzuki box. I stand to be corrected but I doubt any Suzuki to date has come with a comm's port as OEM fitment. Even the Empro ECU on my race bike has a more conventional automotive style multi-pin comm's plug rather than the wee PC-style mini-LAN (RJ11?) plug fitted to this lil' bugger.

Didn't see the comms port, sounds a bit weird.

Just break out the screwdrivers and open that bitch up, or at least identify what the wires going into it are...

I'm a few thousand km's away at the moment, much easier to post pic's on here and wait for someone to confirm it's a Prayer Polariser from the Holy Redeemer Church of Southern Utah.....(my best guess).

Seriously, the bike is running fine, no need to pull looms apart or spend hours researching (outside work, lol), I'm just curious is all.

Think 15" Magnum 500 rather than the similar looking 13" ROS style and you'll soon figure it out.

Got it one bro': '70 Mach 1. Just clocked up the el cheapo rego for 40 years old, almost makes up for the bike rip-off.

I wish! Couldn't stretch the purse strings to a big block, had to make do with a 351 4V, first year of the Cleveland.
