I get all pissy when I get a speeding ticket because I am angry that I was stupid enough to get caught doing it, and I don't want to pay the fine.

I love cops - I have problems with my neighbours (in fact the whole neighbourhood does) The cops come all the time and are really nice.
The only time they aren't nice, in my experience, is when you break the law. They have a shitty job, and they don't get paid that much, when you think of what they have to do.

No doubt the responders to said poll are a totally unbiased cross section of society...

The poll is open. Those polls are anyone who has looked at the website. Assumption would say - they ride bikes, and quite likely are registered to the website.

However, not all responses will be as such and as I said it would be an assumption to think they all ride bikes etc.

Furthermore, out of registered website members there is a huge cross section from across the country from every type of bike and rider and every type of independent and club affiliated.

So in effect the poll is only what 200 or so bikers think?

    So be it...

Well, I did mention roughly the sample size. I think if you are going to cite poll results it's only fair to mention it.

And yes, the assumption would be roughly 200 people ranging from 50cc scooter enthusiast, Harley Owner Group members, garage chopper builders, 1% club members, track racers, and people who are "bike-curious". And I know of one or two site members who are from overseas, as they are interested in the NZ bike scene.

There's only a degree of what information I can access and/or release due to privacy issues for website users. Poll is set up to be as anonymous as possible.

My second gravel ride... riding along on "normal" gravel road, coming downhill, corners blah blah, round the corner and there was very thick gravel where they were doing roadworks (dumping huge amounts of large rocks). Everyone had slowed up alot, I must have braked. I think I went into "retard" mode, the BMW brakes are really sensitive. The front wheel shot out from under me. The guys rode my bike to get it going again and they said my tyres were completely wrong and very slippery - they were dual purpose tyres, so shit on road as well as gravel. They have knobblies on the front and road on the back of their bikes.
Bike was on my ankle... finished the ride to Puhoi had lunch and then rode home, trying to ignore the bent handlebars, brake pedal, brake lever, and screaming ankle encased in boot. Got x-rayed, not broken though everyone thought it was... bike is damaged but insured.
