I had a similar problem when I installed SP2 and my system was running Zone Alarm. Apparently sometimes, but not always. Don't know if this leads you anywhere of use.....

You could be on to something. I don't use Zone alarm, but I do use Nortons Internet security, as well as the on board firewall. I will disable the onboard. Will update if fixed.Originally Posted by Biff

Ramius: just disabling norton internet security wont tell you if that is the problem especially if it is damaged. Symantec has a NIS removal tool if you have a problem removing it.

Sometimes you have to remove it to see if it is the problem, I am guessing you have the copy and No. to put it back on. I would do that before formatting and reinstalling.Originally Posted by Ramius
BTW what is the onboard firewall, I am thinking your talking about the xp firewall?

Try reseting any scripting settings in IE, reset all IE defaults, Yes IE does intergrate with windows explorer.
I had a system where no explorer windows would view correctly, uninstalled NAV, worked fine, ran the NAV removal tool and reinstalled NAV.
But then it could be sun spots in the wrong place![]()
