Zen wisdom: No matter what happens, somebody will find a way to take it too seriously. - obviously had KB in mind when he came up with that gem

Anyone know when the TV coverage is due to screen ?

Clear, clear, clear.
My spin, a bit cool in the morning, maybe a damp track and a bit of fog first thing. Take advantage of this as the sun will arrive and burn off any fog/cloud. Slip/slop/slap and wrap.
Drink lots of water...
......and stay well clear of any groups riding Harleys. I know generalisations are always bad but bugger me, if there's any group of riders who don't seem to know how to ride, it's got to be H-D riders who dress like they're in the Easy Rider movie! There were heaps of Hardly Ablesons on the Coromandel Peninsula yesterday, think it must have been a Poker Run. Bloody terrible riding skills and probably pissed too, judging by some of the stunts. Not a good look.
Went on one Poker run, first bin was before the first stop...never again.
No real group riding control etthics to be seen....not my thing to be honest.
A couple were killed in northland in Jan' while on a poker run...dubious passing/speed and riding skills were reported.
My sentiments too but I don't like riding in big groups anyway apart from the odd toy run. One of my riding partners joined a poker run a few years ago and he shares your sentiments as well - some numbskull overtook him on a corner, had to cut back and put him on the grass verge!I suppose it's a generalisation again, but poker runs seem to attract a lot of people who don't give a sh*t about riding well.
That northland run...I beleive there were two more bins after the fatality.
If I dont have control of a group ride then I will not attend.....I trust myself and those who come on my groups rides but thats it. And the groups are split into three.
I have been on one Coro loop and there were two bins on that day...
Anyway.it should be a scorcher in Pearoa today...
No wets requiered.![]()
No, down in the Waikato. Yeah, I know what you mean as I live about 5 minutes from the Coro Hill. Tend to ride the Loop on weekdays to avoid squids and campervans. Do a lot of riding in the n-w Auckland area now as I'm doing my advanced instructor training with the IAM up there.
Yeah, it's a scorcher already. High tide late afternoon so we're going fishing rather than riding
Safe riding.....
It looked pretty spectacular I have to say. I have a hunk of engine case from Steven Briggs KTM as a trophy from Paeroa. His engine blew itself to smithereens just beside where I was standing and this hunk smacked into my shinNo Paeroa for me this year, I have not missed many since the start, only a week since I got my moon boot off after 5 months means not a lot of standing/walking stamia yet.
Taking a lesuirely pootle up to Mangawhai for lunch instead.
Hope you catch heaps of fish![]()
Saw Harleys parked on the west coast when I did a tyre scrub up the coast from 1745 to 1900 ish Saturday evening. Yes, they were parked outside a pub... I think it was Tapu?
Anyway, a bit of early morning dew on the bikes in Thames on Sunday morning 6am. That was as wet as it ever got. Scorcher of a day, drank 2-3L of water, but being in the sun all day (plus several applications of sun screen), I think I'm still dehydrated as I have a headache![]()

Obviously a friendly bunch, they passed close enough to give me a pat on the back had they been that way inclined or they may have been respecting the double yellows. Cool as a fly blown bucket of turds.
