The eastern route is approx 100km longer, so it will take those riders longer to get to Te Kuiti...

Anyway, just done the Urenui to Te Kuiti leg as a tester, took me an hour to Mokau (normally 30 mins), none stop roadworks, single lane gravel traps, chip n seal and
tar snakes are the name of the game at the moment. Had to wash the bike and all my gear on my return, plastered in cement dust. Hopefully it will have improved by
'Tony' day.

Marty hi,
I'll meet you at Boscos cafe' in Te Kuiti, any idea of the time you will arrive, I'll get there a bit earlier.

Hopefully I can make time that day to ride the Urenui to Te Kuiti leg - all work dependent, but as a worst case scenario, will try to hook up in Hawera and ride through to Urenui.
