    Mounted Constabulary?

Recent posts have got me wondering just how many members of HM Police there are on this board? And more particularly how many of them actually ride?

I know Scummy is a biker

But what about RastusCat - does he have a bike ?

And then there is the TossPotCop - apparently just a Cager

    And maybe Red Mermaid...

    Any others?

Yes RastusCat has a bike, personal and work.

I think you need to define whether they've joined, or they regularly visit. Some will register to keep tabs on a particular ride and the impact it might have on roads (the Cheesecutter ride was one), but they don't regularly visit.

Bykey Cop was around ages ago, don't know if he still is. Was motorcycle police then moved elsewhere in police, and had a personal bike as well (but never time enough to ride it).

Its those lurking constabulary who don't ride that interest me - a biker is a biker is a biker - and I can see why they would be around.

But as to the motivation of the others - hmmm ?

one monitors our rides to see where we are going. Don't know if he still does.
So he would just be a lurker not a member.

Would that be the Ginger Menace from Dorkland - Wellsford way? Haven't heard of him for a while.

I see it possible to view the forums without actually being a member - better be extra careful what I say then...

There was a piece in the news last week about organisations (including the cops) who use sites like this for propoganda.

    no
There is currently a whole thread running that started as an attempt at propaganda.
They have to climb the ratings somehow.

I wouldn't be surprised if they started setting up checkpoints on the KB rides once they find out the route.

Well, they won't be answering in the thread will they?

For the cheesecutter ride, it took place on a saturday or sunday, we'd made various attempts to get co-operation and support from police (rolling block etc) and they'd refused. Suddenly I'm rung on Friday afternoon by someone from Motorways, yes, they were keeping on eye on it and it looked like it would be bigger than they anticipated, so yes, they would make resources available.
