Most of these guys are at the sharp end points wise and by and large now regard street racing as too risky and dangerous. That is the stark reality.
Reality is, that no one (well virtually no one) , actualy road races in New Zealand to earn an income as a professional. Bottom line then is that 99% of us do this sport for fun, the personal challenge and the blood rush ego thing that comes with it.
Street racing pays off big time with respect to the fun factor , its also by far spectator-wise more popular than any other form of road racing.
So if we are all in the sport for fun, and profile then its obvious where most of us should be racing.............
    Just my opinion of course.

P.S - Of course if its not your "cup of tea" ya dont do em, each to their own in respect to whatever spins ya wheels

I travelled down with Dan to Paeroa last year, we did three laps in the rental car on sat arvo around the track, i asked if he wanted Brian Bernard to tag along as he'd raced there before, he was happy without him, he hadn't watched footage or anything about the track and went out and cleaned up.
Travelled down again this year and we did just one lap before he went off to his accomadation.
He's a weapon alright and he will be back for the Taupo round of the Nationals too so book your tickets early
