Only if they have a Locator downloaded into them. I have Lookout. It is a Anti-virus and a Locator.
    Needs gps/wireless to work.

    Otherwise, IT is long gone.
The only stupid question is a question not asked!

I don't think that's necessarily true. Defy is an Android phone right?

You can use 'Plan B', an app that you can install remotely.
    https://market.android.com/details?i...bs.planb&hl=en

"This is the first and only 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you've already lost your phone. Having Lookout on your phone is the best way to protect your phone and find it fast, but use Plan B if you have already lost your phone and didn't have Lookout installed."

    Hope this helps.

Plan B works. Especially well when you go arse first down a hill after seperating from your mountain bike and it comes out of a pocket.

Check with the company he's with. They may be able to trace calls made or at least block the phone ... if it's being used.

Could be traced/blocked even if the sim card was changed. (phone signature)

But not if its off. And in a rubbish skip.
