    Trackdays on a VT250?

Hey guys recently went to my first track event and watched a friend drift up at Taupo. Loved it thought it was great and now I really want to attend a motorcycle track day. Are there divisions or groups that can go out on the track for 250's? I'm quite confident on the VT250 and still haven't got my knee on the ground, doing this on a racetrack would be awesome!

    Cheers guys

yep they cater for all speeds usually, just check with them first
They'll keep an eye on you too if you tell them you're new to it (don't be scared to tell em either as it's for your safety) and often find someone to give you advice etc

I recently went to the pacific m.c. open day on taupo track 4, and there was 4 classes, race, fast, medium and slow. they put first timers in slow (my first time, so in slow for me) there were all sorts of bikes in slow, kids on 150cc 2 stroke race bikes, motards, 250s, my cbr 600, an R1, triumph 1050 and a couple of other big bikes. It was soo much fun, cant wait to get to thier next manfield day. I was told slow class was a limited speed class, but that went out the window halfway tru the first session. Its very friendly for first timers, no passing on the inside on corners and no buzzing slower riders too close on the straight.
Make shure u have good saftey gear(all the proper stuff) and your bike is up to a good standard of maintanance, check yr brake pads, chain, tyre pressure etc and take a basic tool kit, make shure it has duct tape and cable ties in it.
When you get out there, the track is so nice compared to the road, and you get to know the track real fast. Doesnt take long till you are pushing faster each lap. Most fun u can have on a bike, and a great way to get rid of the chicken strips on yr tyres
Give me fuel, give me fire, give me that which i desire

It isn't the size of the tool......

I was at PMCC Track Day on track 4 in Taupo too, on my Ninja 250R.
I was the first bike out in Medium class, and only got passed by 5 bikes at most in each round.

I don't go out just to stick my knee on the deck though, in fact I rarely do. I usually save that for the cool down lap

Take it to the track, if you are confident, then you won't be embarrassed at all.

You'll be welcomed at all of the trackdays I can think of. As far as MotoTT is concerned, you are the target market!

    Cheers,
    Allan.

Take it, Ride it, You'll love it - there aint nothin better!!! You wont know yourself once you've had a play on the track....

What the other's said - make sure you have good gear, let the folks know that you're new to it, don't out-ride yourself first time out (tempting, but makes for a short day and is expensive!) and have FUN!

    See you out there :-)

Mate go hard. Most road going bikers think the track is only for the racers. They are ill informed.

I've been to four I think on my vfr. Hopefully going to go to both motoTT days in Taupo next month..

    See you there..

    No Problem

    Facebook page is here:

    Club web page here:

    www.sportsground.co.nz/pmc

You can Pre-Enter using the summer series race entry form, just tick the practice day box instead of race day. Or else turn up on the Day early in case it sells out
