Best way to straighten/shape an alloy lever to how you want it is with a soft hammer, cold, on a large block of wood. I've never broken one yet doing it this way.
And yes, I've been stabbed through the foot with a clutch lever that was missing the ball.

Spend the money and keep them levers ship shape!

as you know P... the levers on these Tu's Gn's etc stick out past the handles so to fit bark busters the left had to be shortened & the right was already broken off when mrs S had a wee off, so I used need-it (metal type) rolled into balls & molded to ends works a treat
