    I got some graphit this today, it's called Antigrip and as only just over $11.00. It worked a treat, now my key moves smoothly

    All of you who said "CRC" are worngA. All CRC products (apart from their chemical handbook) are crap. Use WD40.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Thats a bit harsh. I have WD40 on the shelf and even I wouldn't say that.
    CRC 556 is fantastic on fishing gear where WD40 does not have enough resistance to corrosion.
    CRC 808 is fantastic for long lasting slip (door hinges etc)
    WD40 is good for high pressure and heavy lubrication setups.

    Different tools different jobs. I suppose you use a Phillips on Pozi-drive screws too.

    Fact of the matter is good old carbon/graphite is best for this application as its an old lock, and locks need friction to work. So loading it up with liquid is not a recommendation.

    Go to the ware whare and it's called "tire shine" or something like that. Spray a bit onto your finger and if it comes out clear and greasy then it's silicone spray. It's quite cheap.
