    Sot 2012

Not often that i get to spectate at a race meeting these days. Having competed in previous SOT,s i know what a great day out it is so decided to have a day as a watcher.
As usual a good turn out and a great atmosphere.
    Highlights
Jake Lewis riding Andy Veals Ducati for the first time..... a nicely turned out bike but not high on spec........... Jake dominated F2.. cant hold back TALENT.
Huge grids of 40+..... in more than one class
Sloan Frost & John Ross giving everyone a show of speed & close racing (shame John had an off before end of day)
Sloan getting such a lead in Eurobike that he came into holding area opposite pits for some suspension tweaks exited back onto track still in lead... wheelied half main straight.......... and still won by a country mile........... awesome......... standing on main bank........ crowd loved it (specially the wheelie)
Nice to see an Aprillia RSV4 out there again (bit of a a fan) - Scotty Sutherland could match Sloan / John to the first corner... but no further..... would love to see one of these at pointy end of Superbike in NZ.
This event always seems to run so many classes with no hiccups and very little downtime.....well done again BEARS
Understand Robin Curtis had a big off at T1 on Saturday...... sure you have something to ease the pain ..mate!.... heal well bud.
Enjoyed my day.........had a great chance to talk to some good people at length................ didnt sell my 675......oh well.
Roll on Rd 4 of Nats at HD.

practice and 41 races in one day! In classes with up to 52 bikes!! What a brilliant effort, something a few other clubs could learn. very fast on pick ups and getting races stopped and started.

Some other home made rules were interesting but had the best weekend!

Yeah I haven't done it for a few years now but plenty of racing, big fields and interesting bikes makes for a good time

It's a great event alright swerve, watched it a couple of times and raced once (first outing on my 675). How did the Galway team do ? I know they were looking forward to it.

    Hi Wharfy
Not sure how Jamie got on... think he was the man in Hinckly class. But was out paced by Sloan/Ross and a few big Ducs & Aprillias in F1.
Sure would like one of those new 675 R........... just sold mine...sad day.
If money wasnt a problem i would run my boy on a 675 in stock production.

Apropos Budda's comment elsewhere about people always wanting to race bikes not catered for in the rules, we were treated to the sight of Lindsay Williamson on a Victory and Darryl Heenan on his Hoggley battling for cruiser honours....

Or should that be the Heavyweight title ?

    Only at the SoT....
