    Stephen,

Price for the NSF250R is 1,800,000 Japanese Yen. Price to crate and ship
the bike to you will cost approx 120,000 Japanese Yen.

    Thanks
    Rick

Works out to about $29,000.00 not bad for a 2012 moto3 bike
It's not what you ride but how you ride it!!

Yep Scotty had the FZ750 at Wanganui in 1985 and the RS500 the following year in 1986 is how I remember it. On the FZ I couldn't believe the lean angle he took it over to on that next right hander up from the Robert Holden corner. The RS I remember him not doing that flash early on (for him) but he quickly figured he needed a gearing change and the rest is history - race wins, lap record.

    Its mentioned here http://www.cemeterycircuit.co.nz/index.php?page=history

Here's an extract from that page:

"In 1986 Richard Scott won on the RS500 Grand Prix Honda to be the first local rider in 30 years to win a feature race. He also became the first rider to lap the track in under 50 seconds. Some kerbing realignment after Scott’s record lap added maybe a second or two to lap times but for all that his time of 49.91secs remained unbeaten for an incredible twenty four years. Superbiker’s Daniel Stauffer of Australia (Yamaha) and New Zealand’s Nick Cole (Kawasaki) were both accredited the new lap record of 49.334secs in 2010."

Remember the RS500 was basically the production racer version, Freddie Spencer won titles on the NS500 and by the time Scotty was winning on the RS Freddie and co already had the V4 NSR500 to race. What would an NS or NSR have gone like at Wanganui? Possibly the RS would have been better suited anyway as the hard out grand prix bikes would have felt a bit constrained around the street circuit.
    Cheers

Yep 1985 was the year he ran the Matich Racing FZR Superbike in the Countrywide Series running number R, not a great series for him starting with pulling out of rnd1 at Hamilton due to track concerns then he had engine issues throughout the rest. In the Wynns series that followed they eventually ran out of spares so he rode the Hawera Yamaha TZ 750 at the final round at Pukee. 1st time on one and got quicker each lap eventually winning the final race and breaking the lap record. Heres F1 R3 from Wanganui 1985, Slight on a production FZR 750 had only been racing for 18 or so months, gotta love Peter Cliffords commentator predictions of his immenient demise throughout the race.

Gregory Yamaha's bikes always seemed to be well tuned! Not saying (obviously) he didn't ride 'em better than everyone else though.
