    I sat round having a few beers with someone a long time ago and he had a pretty plausible idea for a single valve 4-stroke. Even sober the next morning it still seemed like it would work. Even more so with modern engine management.

    super charger 2 stroke ports, oh hold on, that becomes a crankcaseless 2 stroke with nowhere to put the spark plug. . .
