    Ruapuna trackdays?

Anyone know when the next ruapuna trackdays are going to be? Is the canterbury car club the only ones who use it?
I did a search & an old post says it's open Tuesdays & Fridays... whats the general lowdown?

Tuesdays and Fridays are open test days, turn up pay your money and away you go, about $50 for 1/2 day
Depending on the numbers of people out there it may be split into 20 or 30 minute car/bike sessions alternating between them

There is an Motorcycle Endurance race on this on Saturday

One post on a search I did said you had to be a member of a club for a discount otherwise it is usually $100.00. is this correct?
Do they have an entry booth thing or something? Also can i get away with leather pants & seperate jacket or do i need to borrow some proper leathers?

    Sorry for all the questions

Yup if you're not a member of the Cant. Car Club, or a motorcycle racing 'club' like B.E.A.R.s then it's around $100. Still cheap. You'll need to have a spotter with you, someone either on the side of the track watching you or a mate out on their bike. I'm pretty sure the office you need to go into is still on the ground level, just by the main entry to the actual race track itself (after you've driven in through the gates and into the pits).

Gear is entirely up to you, I've been out there before when a friend turned up in jeans, with helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. He spent the afternoon going around the track. Although I'd recommend full gear.

If you're going to go out there it'll pay to ring Lloyd at the Cant. Car Club and ensure there is no weekend race practice being held on that day.

I haven't ever been asked for proof of any club membership

There is no gear check, ride in the gate and head for the Tower, sign in is on the bottom left as you approach it, ask them about anything you're unsure about, eg track entry, exit etc

If you need a spotter just pick any random guy wandering around and ask him to sign, we haven't been asked to have one for ages

How much is membership to the CCC? I just want the cheapest membership that will give me the $50 track days. I've had a look on their website and there are several membership options there.

Membership To MCI {motocycling Canterbury} is $45. This gives you many options including $50 track days.

Do MCI old any track days? It would be good to go when there are a few other like minded souls around.

MCI run the "have a go days" in conjunction with Avon City Suzuki, but not very often. Next one is may 19, but it is at levels. Otago Mcc are running a HAGD at levels march 17th, but in the last few years these have been poorly run imho.

bike shops like avon suzuki etc or hampton honda often send me emails advertising track days, also the canterbury uni club called Motosoc also runs track days. so sign up to their emailing lists or something and you should come across some organized bike track days and training days, sometimes they get good riders to help/train.

or yea go on tuesday and fridays. Iv never actually been asked to present my club membership etc its pretty low key. everyone behaves themself

Where did you find the info about the MAY 19 day? The biggest prob I have is finding out about these events.

For the Ruapuna half days, do most people ride morning or arvo? How much for a full day?

Depends on how lazy you are whether you do a morning or afternoon! I find a full day out there leaves me pretty knackered by about 4pm. It's funny, you've got a track to use, a bike to abuse, but you're just too tired to face more track time.
