As I haven't been for a ride in weeks it will be good if the weather holds, what's the forecast?
Is there any need to state I will be there closer to departure time.![]()

I should be in weather dependant though. How about a ride to Whangamata, its one of the places I haven't ever been too!!

Just seen the weather forecast looks like shit, I guess we will have to assess it in the morning,![]()

"Kiwibikers have another breakdown whilst in the Hamilton area".
It was another chain coming off too (but not Andrew this time!)Luckily, I am at work, and so can't be blamed by association for this one.

Another awesome day out riding with KiwiBikers. Thanks to Vladi, Firefight, Motoracer and Motoracer's bro, we had a ball of a day!!
The day started out with Firefight deciding that riding to Whangamata was NOT an option.

So instead we took the back way to Ngaruawahia via Tuakau and Waingaro. The road around Waingaro at times was a bit 'gravelly' which made me loose confidence in my back tyre.
When at Ngaruawahia, we stopped at the gas station to fill up and have some lunch (I had brunch before then at the Autobahn with Firefight watching with jealous eyes).
From here it was off to Raglan for a bit of a tiki tour. Saw the beach and had a yarn with a couple of local surfies. According to them Whangamata was the ultimate place to be!
The next place stopped was at Hamilton. Motoracer's chain came off along some street in Hamilton. Luckily he was able to get the chain back on, but it was still quite loose. We didn't have the correct size spanner to tighten the chain, so spent half an hour trying to contact our mate Ken the mad yank. Thanks Slim for giving directions to 'The Mad Yanks' but in the end decided that Motoracer's bike could get back to Auckland in one piece without the specialist help of a mad yank. Oh and also thanks to Mitch for helping me make contact with Slim.
The ride back from Hamilton was through SH1, fairly boring but thats KBer's looking out for each other
Stopped back in Bombay for refreshments and debrief on the days action.
BB where did you get to mate? - I need somebody on these rides with a more laid back riding style so I don't get left behind on all the twisties!!
Sorry I missed the ride. After looking forward for so long to being on holiday (since beginning of December) I find to my frustration that more often than not I'm unable to go on a ride because of other commitments.![]()
Had to get up at 3 a.m. this morning to take number 1 son and girlfriend to the airport for flight to Melbourne. Much drama when it turns out girlfriend has mislaid passport and has to miss the flight. Tickets were on airpoints which I had gifted to them - girlfriend stood to lose the return flight as well but airline clerk was sympathetic and she managed to get a flight to Melbourne tomorrow morning for $200 and return on the original ticket. However emergency passport replacement: $400. Expensive absent-mindedness. No doubt original passport will turn up in the next few days.
Then back to airport at 1:30 to say good-bye to aged parent off to see other son in Costa Rica.
All in all a far too busy Sunday which I would have far preferred to spend on my bike. Glad you had a good ride - weather was better than forecast! Hope we can organize another one- will (almost) guarantee to be able to make it!
I love that road.....
the last time I went that way was to pick up my bits and pieces from one of the corner.....![]()

Thanx to all the guys for lending me their tools and hands and makeing sure I got home safe.
Next week I will make sure that the bike is fit for the ride before I take it out.![]()
