Once the thing is in superbike trim it will hardly be any different to what we are currently using. Slight difference in swingarm and Brembo callipers

A new GSXR1000? With *gasp* subtle cosmetic changes, and approximately the same power and weight?

So is "subtle cosmetic changes" code for better looking riders ?

Yes its evolution of quite a few detailed but important changes on an already solid package. It seems everyone wants change all the time and talk and talk about it, but where are all the road bike buyers to justify the huge development costs for such change? The market for sportsbikes is largely tits up at the moment.
Also, but for the enthusiasm and drive of one man within Suzuki NZ there would be no Suzuki road race team. I wouldnt assume that this situation will prevail forever. Money does not grow on trees to go road racing and you just need to look at the other distributors to see what they are ( not ) spending on road racing
