Yoshimura inserts - Better in or out?

Running a set of R22 stainless 'Drag Pipes' ( Shortys) on my L1 'Busa and have removed both of the inserts due mostly to my mate's calling me a pussy for having them in still - I'm sick of being called a pussy .... I've now taken them out. They tell me it'll go a lot better with them removed so ....now I've got a slightly louder ride but I honestly have'nt noticed any difference in performance .

Done a bit of searching and I read that the Yoshi cans actually produce more Hp/Torque with the inserts installed , but only by a smidgen.

No full system on my Bike just the cans and the primary reason was to save about 16kg net swapping them from the big Standard cannons.

No technical data, but I rode with and without the baffles on my SV that had Yoshi's and apart from a significant increase in volume noticed nothing else performance wise.

"In theory" with a non self adjusting setup you will find that the bike runs a bit leaner with the freer flowing exhaust. But I suspect thast the computer has adjusted the injection enough to compensate

Leave them out. More noise is better and all that.

Put the inserts back in if you want more low end and mid range power and torque.
You MAY get more top end with the inserts out.... but you will have to be fairly awesome as a rider to be able to/want to ride your 'Busa at the top end all the time.
My 750 has 125 rwhp with a Yoshi R-55 muffler with the insert fitted.
Gary Pendleton at Dynotech reckons he could probably find 130 odd rwhp with the inserts removed.
The loudness of the muffler sans inserts pisses me off, and I don't ride around at full throttle all the time.
