Is Kinky the new mainstream??
Is Kinky the new mainstream??
No, Pointless Drivel is.
People were shocked 7-8 years ago at my pierced tongue, but now nobody cares, in fact some think its a fashion accessory (it was a rebellion/make my parents angry thing)
Same with the semi visible tattoo, They used to be edgy, hidden away, and now people are a lot more open about them.
As for the people wearing collars and chains, well its definitly developed in to a fringe culture of its own more so now, and people are far more accepting of it with the likes of suicide girls, la ink etc.
Its a double edged sword IMO. How far is too far? How will you be judged for your body midifications at a future job interview? Will the employer who doesn't have aproblem with the tattoo on my neck have the same view as one in the future? Who for example may have a phobia of ginger midgets, and ladybugs?
As for the sex side of, things like porn and sex toys are far more out there and people are far more willing to talk about it, wether it be for the shock value, or because its a genuine interest to those involved. Sex toy parties seem to be common hens night things, and its generally accepted that a stag do with take place in a strip club.
As for sexuality, girl on girl used to be a taboo thing, now its encouraged, and seen as normal. For a girl to say oh i'm bisexual, was a shock, and she used to be seen as dirty, and not in a good way. Now its encougraged, and rewarded.
This could go a few ways, Labelling of society? How media outlets are bringing stuff in to the light, and pushing others out of it? I think I'll just shut up and wait now.
Maybe if it's between consenting adults anything goes??![]()
mmm, kink is such a big thing, that I don't think it will ever really become mainstream
so much as there will be a greater overlap, which gingermidget demonstrates nicely.
the willingness to talk is good, but the ease with which people get shocked by what I consider relatively mild forms of play suggests that there is a long, long way to go before kink will lose it's stigma.
kink encompasses so many things, that it's likely if you choose two random kinky people, there will be more difference than similarity in what they like, and better than even odds that at least one kink will result in disgust from one of the two, or more likely be a hard limit (something they would never do, for any reason).

For a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him.Keep an open mind, just dont let your brains fall out.
spanking (not to the point of bruises) would be a mild form of play
tying a person up with scarves, or soft rope
maybe fuzzy cuffs.
just in the bedroom dominance and submission
just a few examples out of thousands.
with the exception of the last, these need not be sexual, and are very much the tame side of things.
if you want to know what I consider extreme play, pm me. that I will not say in public

To be honest, people fascinate me.
The whole "I'd never do that" and "that's disgusting" type of people, are then so shocked when they try something they wouldn't normally consider and discover they actually are genuienly interested. The topic of anal sex came up recently with friends, and one girl went to red everyone just assumed she was a bit of a prude, so we stopped talking about it. Turns out her boyfriend wanted her to, and she wanted to know more, but didn't know how to ask.
Things are certainly changing. Some for the better, and some, well obviously not. Have you seen those hideous boots? all shiny plastic and platforms. Give me a nice pair of Gaerne any day![]()
