Perhaps the mods may want to look at the fact that, while I couldn't care less about their silliness, all they are really doing is ruining the legitimate threads of other members with off-topic idiocy. Not really fair for the OP, is it?

decides that it is necessary to give a running commentary on your emotional fragility as it pertains to your internet communications with little to no consideration to how unhelpful it is to the poor poor OP, who just so desperately needs help and cannot possibly survive even the slightest deviation from the topic . .

How about you just fuck off and worship your zombie jesus sky pixie you hypocritical fucking cultist.

You are right of course, I received the red rep for a legitamate post about the thread topic on this thread and while I could have started another thread or posted in my own "repping" thread I thought other members should know who the idiots are.

So I do apologise to the OP.

Shhh... They think they are fine upstanding members with an enormous library of relevant information to contribute. Pointing out the fallacy of this may damage their ego's.

Maybe we can all get back on topic now and give the OP a nicer time here.

A good little trick for finding air leak is to have the bike idling and spray a bit of brakeclean at the area of the suspected leak. If the idle speed changes you've found it.

Yep, or engine start works too, but remember they are flammable Name: blowup.gif

And it won't work on the airbox, only between the throttle blades and engine...

If you restrict (choke) the intake and open the butterflies to achieve vacuum in the airbox then it does...

But good point and worthy of pointing out.

Yeah just got back from a weekend away on it. Did about 200km round trip.
Its running pretty rough. The induction noise is loud but it has settled down a little bit, but the bike is running pretty rough. Its sort of a mixture between a rotary and a twin in sound, and down low its not very smooth at all. When you open it up, its a bit of a case of 'Hang on!', but down low is quite jerky. Trying to go slow through busy towns, like 30km/h type thing, is interesting. Lumpy cam mixed with poor tune type thing. Really stange, never experienced it on the bike before.
    Maybe it does need re-jetting...
Annoying as it wasnt like this prior to the service, it was smooth as.
Almost sounds like its running on 3, but then the power is there, so it cant be.

    Weird.
Might give them a call tomorrow.

If it's a very low revs you might get away with pilot screw adjustment, if it's below 7000rpm raising the needles will do it.
Unless they've synced 'em wrong or set the floats wrong

Aside from that though, at about 80km/h there is a 'shimmering' sort of sqeal/whine sound, really quite loud. Doesnt matter what gear you are in really, or if on load or off load, its present. Not sure what it is, maybe a bearing in the gearbox or something?
Doesnt seem to change with revs/gear, I noticed it in the top 3 gears anyway, and all from about 78-85km/h. Above that it goes away. Not the sound of brakes or anything, more sounds like a bearing at a guess.

    Any ideas?

im picking whine is from chain being to tight maybe with a stretched point loading up from sprocket bearing(if the wheel has been adjusted).
Check the chain at several points of rear wheel turn and not just one place.

Im picking new filter is letting bike run lean.Block off some of the intake side of the filter with rag to confirm if power returns low down.
Idd say you will need needle lift to bring the air fuel mixture back.Carb slide prob staying low then lift suddenly when the revs build giving you a 2 stroke feeling power band.
I have evolved as a KB member. Now nothing I say should be taken seriously.

    Thanks guys.

Will investigate the carb adjustments, thanks.
Yes its all under 7000rpm. Over 7000rpm it has tons of power and felt relatively normal. It feels gruntier at the high end, but rubbish down low.
They did a carb balance at the service, and said it was a little way off, but nothing major. Assume though that what is required isnt covered under the B Service.

The whine sound has been like that for quite some time, before the service - so its not related to that. I should have said.
The chain was looser than it is now, they adjusted it at the service. It was doing this sound before it went in. I dont know if it would be the chain....

    Thanks
