    Bicycle speedo on a motorcycle.

Hi, my bike's speedo is pretty inaccurate and was wondering if anyone had used a bicycle speedo on their motorbike? I've been looking at some on Trademe but the sellers don't know if they will work on a motorbike.

    Cheers.

Yes, I do on both my road bikes and they are accurate compaired to GPS. I use the Echowell brand sold by Bike Barn shops. Very reliable. Only small issue is they only read up to 199kph.

Im getting one for my motocross bike next.

    Awesome thanks.
I don't plan to be going up to 200k so that's not really an issue for me.

I have a gps already but its a bit of a hassle to keep attaching it and removing from my bike.

You can use both wireless and wired ones. I prefer wired ones. You also get average speed, max speed etc.

They should all work theoretically. You would have to take particular care to set it up properly, cuz I don't think you'd be getting +200 on your 550.

The only thing to consider is lighting it for night riding. I was thinking of going with one on my bike, but to get a nice one with temp/idiot lights in it is over $100USD (Koso make some nice ones and there are a few retro style gauges out there too)
